Central Regional’s Rescue Animal Giving Tree
This year Central Regional is doing a Rescue Animal Giving Tree for Popcorn Park Zoo, located in Forked River, from December 3rd-19th. Donated items can include Toys, Blankets, Sheets, Towels, Food (Purina), and Treats. It’s important to give back during this time of year, as some people and animals are not as lucky and blessed as we are. Donatable items will be given to cats and dogs in need.
“I think it’s an amazing idea, I love animals and I think animals deserve everything.” Senior Autum Alexander tells me. “Anything that helps the community is good,” Mr. Booth states. Logan Walder, Sophomore, tells me, “It’s a good thing.” not one for talking much haha. Finally, Benjamin Durr adds “It’s a good cause because it’s helping the animals.” I think all of these responses agree on one thing, it’s a great way to celebrate the holidays. If you asked me about it, I would tell you that this is a great way to give back and bless others, especially because animals do none of us wrong and give us the best love.
Popcorn Park Zoo was founded in 1977 by Associated Humane Societies. They started by treating a raccoon caught in a leg-hold trap and went from there. Their goal is to help as many animals as they can that are in need for care. Popcorn Park Zoo is worth giving to and helps many animals. So give back this holiday season by giving as much as you can to these loving animals here at Central Regional.
