Movie Review

In the year 1973, The Peanuts took on their third holiday special, A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving leading to that small feel of holiday magic. With just 25 minutes of feel-good animated clips packed with lots of laughs, love, friendship, and family this short wholesome film is perfect to watch on Thanksgiving Day. Especially when waiting for Thanksgiving dinner to finish up!

The Peanut gang is ready to take on the Thanksgiving holiday! The movie series is known for their two famous characters Charlie Brown and Snoopy, where in this film they’re yet again the center of attention gathering what they need to create the most delicious Thanksgiving meal. Charlie spends a lot of time trying to kick the same football but he  just can’t kick it! Throughout the film, Snoopy is dressed head to toe as a pilgrim, alongside him is his best pal, Woodstock. In this comical scene of Woodstock trying to carry a toy musket, he was unable to carry the heavy musket due to his small size. This led to him surprisingly dropping it, leading the musket to fire at Snoopy. WIth this comical scene, Charlie Brown and Snoopy prepare for the perfect Thanksgiving feast with the rest of the gang Linus, Lucy, Sally, Marcie, Franklin, and Peppermint Patty.

Charlie Brown’s sister, Sally Brown, uses words such as “blockhead” and “stupid” which may not be the best words to hear on the TV for younger kids to hear just in case they have a hobby of repeating things but this is part of that sweet feel of the Peanuts and what makes them family. In my opinion, what makes this movie a perfect watch is the way it takes an important lesson about the significance of Thanksgiving while also combining comedy, family, and love. This movie offers the true meaning of the Thanksgiving holiday while teaching different valuable life lessons.

With this cozy holiday classic, it helps show the true meaning of an important celebration with the Peanuts.
