Thanksgiving came to be in 1863 when Abraham Lincoln declared the last Thursday of the month to be reserved primarily for giving thanks and prayer. Historically, Thanksgiving and Christmas have notoriously been rivals for decades and decades. Thanksgiving displays more noble attributes to make it the better holiday such as, better food, better family connection, and a better season. The fall vibe of thanksgiving along with the orange and yellow color scheme play into the vibrant and cheery aesthetic of Thanksgiving.  The foods, from turkey to green beans all provide a warm fulfilling treat to the Thanksgiving table. The Thanksgiving season brings warm winds and bittersweet endings to the summer holidays, bringing together families after a long chaotic summer of running around and hot weather. The fall leaves falling to the ground paint the scenery in beautiful red and orange colors to highlight the beauty of things ending to come together. Overall, Thanksgiving is a better holiday in comparison to Christmas for numerous reasons. 

Contestably, Christmas holds a much deeper meaning to a broader range of individuals and brings much more to the table than Thanksgiving does. Although the cold nips at all of our hearts during the winter months, with this snow and cold comes many exciting holiday activities to do with your family and friends. Ice skating, snowball fights, baking christmas cookies and drinking hot cocoa by the fire all release serotonin that cannot be replicated through any other holiday. The time of coming together with your family and friends to frolic through nostalgic memories and remember the ghosts of Christmas past, in which all the past versions of your family have existed to grow into the current version. The thrill and excitement behind secret gift giving with friends and peers at places of work, study, or fun brings joy to those who spend the whole year waiting for the season of twinkling lights and snowfall. Overall, Christmas displays a plethora of jolly and bright cheer along with many fun activities to keep you busy all winter long.
