The phone ban around New jersey
The phones have become a big part of teens lives. They revolve their whole lives around their phones and they don’t do everything from their phones. Students use their phones for everything to watch videos ,communicate with their friends, they use their phones to text their parents,friends, they also use their phones to listen to music. The phone ban has been starting to ban phones and not letting kids use them during the school day. Some students are frustrated by the phone ban. They think it’s not fair. Students think they should have their phones in school just in case something bad happens in school and they have their phone if they need to call their mom/dad. Some students have different opinions about the phone ban, some students don’t mind not having their phones, some say it helps them concentrate and helps them focus and do better with their work.
Students some they think using their phones are useful during school and that students should be allowed to have their phones but use them responsibly and teachers think it’s too much of a distraction cause some students focus more on their phones than the teacher in class cause the students aren’t listening to the teachers and using their phones while their learning a lesson.
A lot of teachers think the phones are a major distraction to students while learning and it is cause even when the students aren’t using their phones in class they will go off in class and they will make the kid want to see what notification they got either from messages,snapchat,tiktok and students often answer right away. Teachers feel that not being able to have your phone in class or in school is better because it would help students participate more in their classes. Not having the phones in classes also helps cause the students aren’t looking at their phone the whole class and the can talk to their friends instead of them texting them on snapchat or instagram and them being glued to their phones while their right next to each other instead of looking up and not looking at their phone and talking to their people in their class instead of being on their phones for the whole class periods.
Some schools have phone jails where you lock your phone in a jail and you cant touch it or you cant have it for the whole day i think that your doing to much cause i think students should be able to have their phones in school i think it should just stay in your pocket all day and not touch your phone for the 5-6 hours that your in school instead of having a phone jail where you put your phone in something and you can’t have it at all for the rest of the day.
The phones during school are used in good ways if your teacher needs you to do something and you don’t have your chromebook and you can just do it on your phone instead of not doing the work at all. THe phone is also useful cause if there’s an emergency at the school and the school cant contact your parents and you can you can just call them yourselves. Some students have no problem having their phone away they have no problem with it cause it doesnt really affect them cause there not on it that much some students use it more than the others because it’s a distraction just have students put their phones in their bookbag or pocket and just don’t touch it for the day.
