Central regional high school will be throwing its first halloween dance on October 24, 2026 on Saturday. It’ll be a fundraiser and hosted by the junior class and the class advisors, Mr. and Mrs. Jacobs. It had been in the air for a year, and was finally put into motion after Mr. Jacobs and Mrs. Jacobs considered how fun this would be for the students. The dance will be held in the senior gym from 6:00pm to 9:00pm. The middle school Halloween dance sparked the idea for our dance, Mr. Jacobs stated “We don’t have one but the middle school has one and it would be fun for the students.” students can wear your costume or come as your horrible, ugly, monster self. Food and drinks will be provided and music will be provided by DJ chilly willy. The costume contest will be held during the dance but the categories are still in the works. This dance is supposed to bring fun and happiness to the students and staff. Asking students about the Halloween dance they stated, “I think it’s very middle school but also nostalgic when we were in elementary school.” I believe the students have very mixed feelings about this dance but it leans more positively than negatively.
With how homecoming was moved to early September, this dance will give some normalcy to how chaotic the schedule was in the beginning of the school year and how everything was moved up. “I think it’s gonna be fun and a good fundraiser for our class because everybody loves halloween” another example of the positivity coming from this dance. “I think it’s stupid and I’m not attending because I believe that the money could go to other issues like hiring school therapists, also the school has had issues within its building that they could be focusing on” stated by a student in the junior class. This is an opinion that’s been going around in every class, they believe that the money the school is spending could be used for other things. It’s a statement that can be understandable but it isn’t for the school but for the class of 2028. The dance is for everyone to have a good time and decompress with your friends while wearing costumes. It’s also to make money to fund our senior trips and proms. Not everything is set in stone for the dance as stated before, but listen or look out for announcements and emails to get all the details.
